Printers are added to Account nodes in the SAFEQ Cloud system tree. Create and manage printers by clicking on the Account, then selecting the Printers option from the sub menu.

Adding a Printer

To add a Printer to an Account, select the account in the tree, this will display the Account sub menu. From the Account sub menu select the Printers option.

The Printers list shows basic information for the Printers configured for this Account.
Click on button to add a new Printer, and the new printer entry is displayed:

Name
The friendly name of the printer within the Account.

Address
Enter the IP address or host name of the MFP device on the network.

Protocol
Select communication protocol to the device according to table below:

Protocol Usage Notes
TCP (default) Direct delivery to printer via TCP port 9100 SAFEQ Cloud has control over print process, show errors in the log
IPP Direct delivery to printer via IPP protocol SAFEQ Cloud controls delivery, supports both IPP and IPPS printing
Spool (depricated) Uses operating system printing sub-system (CUPS) Operating system delivers to printer

For IPP printing, enter the IPP URL for the destination printer:

Vendor
Select the printer vendor type from the drop down list.

Output Type
Select the output type for the print job data. The output types listed are based on the selection of Vendor and correspond to those supported by SAFEQ Cloud.
The “Raw” output type should only be selected if using third-party print driver instead of the SAFEQ Cloud universal driver. In this case the job data will be passed to the printer unmodified. The other types – Postscript2, Postscript3, Postscript (deprecated), PCL6 or PDF, depending on availability – should be selected when using universal driver for printing.

Create matching input port
By selecting this option, a matching Input Port will automatically be created after the current printer is added.
The default settings for this Input port: identical name with the printer, type Push Queue, linked to the Printer, available by default.

Reverse Path Finisher
Select this option if the device uses a reverse path finisher

Monochrome printer
This option indicates the printer that can only print black and white. If it is enabled, the reports will not contain any information regarding color pages.

Service
Select the Document Output service from the drop down list that will transmit the print job data to this device. In case no service is already created, it can be added using the Add button.

Embedded configuration
Select the embedded configuration from the drop down list. In case no embedded configuration is already created, it can be added using the Add button and this window is opened to add a new configuration:

Location
This value indicates the Printer location. If no location is set on the Printer, it will retrieve and display the inherited location of the parent.

Embedded software
When you have selected a vendor for which Embedded terminal is supported, you can select this option to later install and configure this feature.

Click save to create and enable the new Printer.

Open the Printers list


Select one of the icons to perform the following actions:
Edit Printer settings Settings are read only until the Edit button is clicked.
Delete a Printer Click OK on the confirmation pop-up.
QR code Open a pop-up to display the QR code for Mobileprint scanning (verify browser settings do not block pop-up)

Printer Sub Menu

Printers appear in the SAFEQ Cloud system tree as sub nodes of the Account. Selecting the Printer in the tree displays the sub menu.


History
The History view displays a list of jobs, the job owner (user name), status, number of pages and date/time for each job printed on the device.

Settings
Select this item to Edit printer settings, or Delete the printer.

Access Control
The Access control section allows management of the permissions to access this printer. See section 5.11 for more details on Access control settings.
