Password Reset 🔑🤦♀️
Because "Password1234" Isn't Working Anymore
Has someone forgot their password again! Don't worry, we've all been there!
Lucky for you, password reset is easy via the SAFEQ Cloud Portal.
Quick reality check: This password reset wizardry only works for local SAFEQ Cloud accounts - the ones we actually control.
If you're using Entra ID, Google, or any other authentication provider, you'll need to go reset your password wherever your IT originally set it up.
The Recovery Process 🎭
Option A - The Express Lane - but you need to know what you’re doing:
Go directly to the SAFEQ Cloud Portal URL, but add /passwordreset to the end.
It should look like https://[yourdomain].[xx].ysoft.cloud/passwordreset
where xx is the data center but you knew that already right?
Option B - The Scenic Route:
Navigate to the login page and follow the rest of the guide below.
Step 2: Username
Type in your username, and hit Next
Click the "Password Reset" button
Step 3: The Username Déjà Vu Experience
Type your username AGAIN on the next screen.
Click "Submit"
Step 4: The Waiting Game
Check your email.
Click the magical link in the email
Step 5: The Fresh Start
Create a new password
Make it secure.
Use a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols, our standard is minimum 12 length
Type it twice
Submit
Hints & Tips💡
Password Creation Tips:
Make it unique - don't recycle that password from 2018
Make it complex - but not so complex you need a PhD to remember it
Make it memorable - "MyC@t15Fl00fy!" is better than "X7#mK9$pLw2@"
The Part Where We Sound Responsible:
PLEASE, for the love of all things digital, save your password in a password manager!
You know what's better than going through this whole reset process every few months? Having a password manager that remembers everything for you. It's like having a digital assistant who actually does their job and doesn't judge you for forgetting things.
Popular options include:
LastPass
1Password
Bitwarden
Your browser's built-in manager
Troubleshooting
"I Never Got The Email!"
Check spam/junk - password reset emails love hiding there
Wait 10 minutes - it might take a bit of time to get to you
Contact IT
"The Link Doesn't Work!"
Check if it expired - these links have short lifespans
Try a different browser - there could be cacheing issues. x`
Start over - because apparently that's what we do now
"My New Password Isn't Working!"
Check caps lock
Make sure you're using the RIGHT new password - not the old one
Clear your browser cache
The Bottom Line 🎯
Password reset: it's not rocket science, but somehow we all need instructions anyway. The process is designed to be foolproof.
Just remember: username, reset button, username again (because reasons), check email, click link, new password, (and maybe password manager).
P.S. - If you're reading this guide for the third time this year, we're not judging you. Much. Okay, we're judging a little, but mostly we're impressed by your consistency. 😏
